children and parents together
Where children explore, families connect, and learning grows naturally.
Island Cooperative Preschool has served Bainbridge Island families for over 40 years with a community-driven, hands-on early childhood program. Children ages 1–5 learn through play, imagination, outdoor exploration, and social connection, supported by teachers and engaged co-op families.
Play-based learning. Nature-rich days. A true parent cooperative.
Our play-based, nature-focused curriculum follows the seasons and supports the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of children ages 1–5. With an inspiring outdoor play space and regular island adventures, learning feels joyful and connected.
Connection, community, and childhood — all in one place.
Community is at the heart of our co-op. Families build meaningful relationships through school events, shared responsibilities, and monthly parent-education classes. Guided by our experienced teacher, Ellen Carleson, parents regularly participate in the classroom, learning alongside their children as Teaching Parents. ICP is a peanut-free school.
We love our school, and we invite you to explore, visit, and get to know our community.
“We love ICP because it provides a community of nurture and support that we wouldn’t have been able to create on our own. Having moved here from the East Coast, ICP gave us a wonderful opportunity to develop our village with likeminded families that have similar child rearing philosophies and commitments to growing and developing our community.”
