About Us
Our Mission
Our mission is to nurture, inspire and involve children and parents in the exploration of learning.
Who We Are
For over 40 years, ICP has offered a warm, inclusive preschool experience for Bainbridge Island as well as Kitsap County families. As a cooperative school, our families and teachers work side by side to create a joyful, meaningful early-childhood environment where every child is known, and every parent has a place.
Our Teaching Philosophy
We follow a play-based, nature-forward approach grounded in early-childhood best practices. Children learn through hands-on experiences: open-ended materials, imaginative play, outdoor exploration, art, music, storytelling, and social-emotional learning.
Our teachers guide children gently—modeling problem-solving, supporting independence, and encouraging creativity and curiosity.
The Co-Op Model
As a co-op, parents are active partners in the classroom and in the life of the school. Parent participation looks like:
Helping in the classroom on scheduled days
Joining committees that keep the school running smoothly
Attending monthly parent education events
Supporting community traditions and school improvements
Being a co-op means ICP is more than a preschool — it’s a community you join, contribute to, and grow with.

Our Teachers
Warm, experienced educators lead each class with intention and care. Teachers design curriculum around the children’s interests, seasonal rhythms, and the developmental needs of each age group. They partner closely with families to support each child’s growth.
Our Campus
Located on Seabold Church Road, ICP offers a bright, cozy indoor classroom and a rich outdoor environment where children climb, dig, paint, garden, and explore year-round. Our campus is a space where imagination and nature meet.
