Worms!

Teacher Ellen
Today we explored worms for our worm bin. One friend and his mom brought in lots of worms they had taken from their compost pile. Some other worms came from a worm farm.

There were wiggly! They were not all the same size or color.

We learned that some are red wigglers, and some are tiger worms. These worms are different than earth worms. These worms stay closer to the surface, decomposing food scraps, while earth worms prefer digging deeper into the earth.

We put them in our new worm bin. These wormies will help eat our snack scraps, and in return, they will give us good things for our soil to help our plants grow!
