Let It Snow!
In December the weather man kept teasing us that it might snow. All of us in the Orca class wanted snow, so we thought about it, wished for it, sang songs about snow, and made art about snow. We learned the ingredients needed to create snow in Washington: cold air and moisture. We often have one or the other, but not both at the same time.
At the play doh table we made snowmen.
Each snowman had it's own personality.
We also wrote stories about our snowmen. In most stories there was the theme of dying, which happens easily for a snowman. There was also the theme of rebirth, for when a snowman dies, all you have to do is build it back up again.
Despite all of our wishing, we have only gotten a bit of snow one morning. It's only January, so there's a chance we could still get some! Keep your fingers crossed!
