Building Birdhouses

Our winter quarter Eco School goal was Waste and Consumption. This took us into spring, so we decided to learn about both at the same time.

Each class built a small birdhouse. The Orcas built one for the Penguin class.

Then we painted them beautiful colors.

We covered the birdhouses and the poles they will go on with recycled bottle caps, learning about reusing something that might otherwise go into the trash. We hope they make the front garden a little more cheerful, and maybe the birds will come and set up housekeeping!
