Fairies, and Pirates

Teacher Ellen
One day we played fairies and pirates. First we met as groups to make sure we knew what each group would need for their play. Planning ahead helps move unorganized play into more mature play that engages children's self-regulation skills.

The fairies made their home in the tree house. They gather lots of dandelions both to decorate the tree house, as well as to make their fairy dust. They had to negotiate with the pirates about whether the two groups would get along, or not. Some pirates chose to protect the fairies, while other pirates were busy digging for treasure.

Another day, we had Pirate Fairies.

And good ol' fashioned pirates, living amiably together.
