Building a zoo

One day the Dolphins built a zoo in the circle area. They used colored blocks. It was fun to work together, and hard to resist knocking down what was being built. They children cooperated, problem solved, and communicated wth their friends during the process.

Wooden animals were added to their building. Some children went to get trucks and wagons to help deliver building materials and animals.

The children also used their math skills, matching up animals by type.

It was fun. Often block building can be dominated by the boys, but there were just as many girls enjoying this process as boys.
