Fun in the Penguin Class

Teacher Ellen
The little Penguins are becoming more and more comfortable at school. They come in eagerly, and even greet me warmly. It's all about building trust at the start of school: will my favorite things still be there, will my friendly teacher play with me, will I be safe and have fun.

Some social exploration with the play people has been going on. Putting Mommy and Daddy to bed, saying hello to Mommy.

Here Mommy gives Daddy a kiss, all things these little children have seen modeled at home and now have an opportunity to play out at school.

Guess what this little guy has seen modeled? He kept walking around, saying, "Hello," in a loud voice. We are mastering the simple routines of school, including toys away, and washing our hands. The children are learning to pour their water without too many spills, and they are drinking out of cups at snack. So much learning, and so much fun!
