Learning about wild animals

Teacher Ellen
When learning about wild animals, the Orca students each picked a wild animal that they would see on our trip to the zoo. At home we did sme simple research on our animals, focusing on the animal's habitats. We marked them on our zoo maps, and then found our animals at the zoo. We paid close attention to what was in their habitat at the zoo.

Back at class, we made dioramas of our wild animal's habitat.

We used our research to help us remember what our animal needed.

This habitat is for the Desert Rosy Boa. It was decided that this desert needed some cactus, so a lot of focus and hard work was put into crafting dangerous cactus from clay and toothpicks. "You would need a protective suit to go in this desert. You would not want to go there naked!"
