The Orcas and Birds
We cooked the eggs we got from the chickens at the farm. We also cooked some eggs from the store (naturally nested, organic eggs). Once the eggs were scrambled, we asked the kids if they could guess which eggs came from the farm? They knew right away that the yellower scrambled eggs were the farm eggs because the yolks had been orange when they cracked them.
It was a delicious scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast snack at school, even though it was a little strange for these birds to be eating eggs!
Look! Even my toast has wings!
We made a nest in a bush. We were a big bird family.
A fierce game of chase ensued, with owls and hawks chasing the birds. This Mama Bird (you can tell by her cape) is trying to prtect her babies. She even had a magic wand!
Feeding the babies. Being a mother is hard work!
