Spring Seeds

Teacher Ellen
We have been exploring seeds and flowers. Here a Penguin (1-2 years) tries to plant some flowers.

Another Penguin explores flowers, dirt, and seeds.

Look at these bautiful spring flowers!

Let's paint those beautiful colors (Sea Otter class)!

We planted Jolly Time popcorn into zip bags. First we write our name on the bag.

Then we count out the seeds- 5 of them go into the bag of planting soil.

See my seeds? They're still sleeping.

They will need water to wake up and start growing.

"Wake up seeds!" I call into the bag.

Here a Sea Otter "plants" a flower garden, sorting the flowers by color and lining them up.

The reason for a flower is to make seeds. Here you can see where the seeds are in a daffodil.

Flowers also produce fruit which is where the seeds are. They are all fuirts of the plants, but we call some of them vegetables. Here the Orca class cuts up seed bearing fruits for snack.

Finally, some Dolphin boys water our plants on our porch outside. All living things need water.
