A Community is Re-Born

(It has been a while since I updated the blog. I have struggled a bit with the learning curve switching from a PC to a Mac, but just maybe I have it figured out.)

School has started and we are off to another great year. To get everyone and the school ready, we hold our annual All School Outdoor Tidy and Family BBQ. The weather was gorgeous, and over 60 parents and children showed up to get our wonderful outdoor spaces ready for the children. Everyone had an opportunity to help, in true co-op style. We added more sand to the sand area.

Several strong dads helped move the old piano from the porch. Eventually we will get the harp out of the case and add it to our music wall.

There was sweeping,

and planting. There was also lots of connecting, the core of building community.

All areas got attention, from the hill, to the fairy forest, to the field and orchard, and even Butterfly Garden.

Children of all ages helped, and played together.

It amazes me what a group of people can do when they believe in a place and work together.

We finished our day with a potluck BBQ. There was laughter, connection, good food, and a community has been re-born. It's going to be a great year.
