ICP Visits Bountiful Farm
We are so fortunate every year to visit our friend's farm, Bountiful Farm. Here we are farmer helpers, and we use our farm hands to help the farmers feed the animals. There is fun and excitement for all ages.
We smell the flowers.
We peek into the nesting boxes to see the chickens,
and to see their eggs.
Here the Orcas measure how many children it takes to go around this grandfather tree.
We feed the horses. We learn about horse body language, and how to safely feed them carrots.
There is a special sword in a stone at this farm. We take turns trying to pull the sword from the stone to see if one of us is the king or queen, but we have never been able to do it.
Here the Orcas are gathered on the fence to the cow pasture.
There are many different kinds of plants on the farm, too.
And a stream! We throw our sticks in the water to see how fast they move down and over the waterfall.
The mystery of a green path beside a stream.
A big sister showed us how to clean up the horse poop in the barn. She helps out at her grandparent's barn.
We fed the cows. These animals are big, and were a little scary for some of the children.
The sheep were not so intimidating. Even the littlest children helped to feed them.
Oh, and don't forget the farm kitty!
It is fun to share the farm with our parents, and to have them there to help us.
The Penguin class!
Snack with friends at the farm.
Hmmm... what does this yellow flower growing by the stream smell like? Ew! Skink cabbage!
We tasted garlic chives. Yum (maybe)!
Farmer Ross even let the Orcas ride the horse!
And we rode the stone cow. How many Orcas can we get on this thing?
