Visiting Bloedel Reserve

Bloedel Reserve is next to (or adjacent, as two preschool sisters like to say) the wildlife shelter. We walked there and had a fabulous time!

The reserve has many different beautiful natural environments. There were bridges over streams.

The camelias were blooming and covering the path with their pink petals. We filled our pockets with these, and then dropped them into a stream down the path.

There are open, grassy areas. Big open spaces have a very different feeling than wooded areas.

There are many different kinds of paths leading to interesting places.

There are places where we can view things from above,

and places where we stand beside them to observe. This is the Zen garden, and we looked for shapes raked into the white stones.

There is a big reflection pool,

and we all looked at our reflections.

Some beautiful things are there because of accidents of nature, like the roots of this tree.

It was an amazing day( (Note the red tailed hawk in the front of the picture with her wings outspread)
