Our Playground is Almost Done!

Our Natural Playscape project is nearing completion, and just in time for the celebration of Island Co-op's 40th Birthday!

This has been a true cooperative effort, as many ICP individuals and families have gathered together to create this magical place. So much has happened in the past month and a half! The huge hill is in, along with massive boulders, cement steps embedded with treasures, a sawn-log suspension bridge, a look-out platform with driftwood railing, a stream complete with mosaic animals and a kid-powered pump, two slides, and a huge, sandy "beach" complete with beach cottage and row boat!

On May 22 40 years of co-op families are invited to gather to celebrate what ICP has meant to them. The celebration will be held on our new Natural Playscape, and party goers will leave their mark on the playground by adding something special to our large mosaic wall. They will also add things to a time capsule which will be placed in the wall for future generations to discover!
